Lake Fork opened in 1980 and is a man made lake.  It is about 100 miles from DFW Airport, but you would never know it was that close to the big city.  When it is full it has a surface area of 27,264 acres and a depth of 70 feet.  If you want more information about the lake itself, you can find it here.
